Arshavin is an excellent player and will be Arsenal's loss. He reminds me of the Laudrup brothers, and I'm sure he may be the star of the tournament.
Maybe Wenger should have kept Arshavin and made him Arsenal captain. Arshavin played like a real captain in the game, driving on the Russian players, making great passes. Did he have a twin playing for Arsenal recently? cos the diference between Arshavin's movements was huge in a Arsenal shirt and Russian shirt.
Arshavin did not play as a winger, as he does for Arsenal, he was in his best position, a sort of roaming midfielder, he popped up on the right, on the left and for a lot of the time in midfield, where he did most of his good work, unlike at Arsenal he did not have to rely on the service from the full back. His quick moving style of play is ideal in the modern game, when he plays in a more central role he is a different player, as he was last night, I just wish that Wenger would get the message, it might save him a lot of money.
Arshavin, why your form of play is so good when play for your country? Can you do this once again for Arsenal when you return if Arsene decided to keep you???

He received the ball on the right wing so many times tonight.
Wenger made him stick to the left whereas at Zenit and Russia he is allowed to roam across the whole midfield.
That amazing little pass to Kerzakhov when he shanked it wide came from Arshavin attacking down the right.
Arshavin has woken up from his quadrennial hibernation. He is such a sweet player when he plays happy. What did Arsene/al do to him?
Didn't trust him enough to give him total freedom.
Let the little gifted Russian roam across the midfield and he will do wonders.
Limit him to the left / inside left and you're stuck with a stroppy Andrei who wants nothing to do with the game.
